Time has flown so quickly since our last newsletter back in December 2016 and so much has happened here at EPTI since then!
Graduate PT Directory
The EPTI Graduate directory is now live and if you have not added your profile, you can do so, creating one by clicking here.
If we created a profile for you and you wish to update it, you’ll need to replace the one that we made for you.
In the last newsletter, we spoke about the diversity of interest in our graduates from companies in and out of the fitness industry, from fitness chains in the United Arab Emirates, to a TV production company in the UK…
Earlier this month Mens Health magazine USA were in contact with us wanting to speak with personal trainers from around Europe. At this moment in time, we have a number of graduates collaborating with Mens Health USA for a worldwide fitness article, which when published will boost all of their professional profiles beyond recognition. Stay tuned and we will share the article once published.
2017 Practical courses
The words are becoming a common feature on our course schedule page!!
In February we ran the first of our 2017 practical courses at our Dénia campus and certified 13 new fitness professionals. The weather didn’t behave quite like it normally does, but we still managed to get outside and run our outdoor training components like group training, bootcamp instructor and suspended movement training.
Later this month we’ll be heading to Estepona to run what will be our first practical course at our new campus at Centro Deportivo Las Mesas, on the Costa del Sol of Spain. Again, the course is fully sold out and we will be joined by new staff member and previous EPTI Master PT Diploma graduate, Michelle Olivera.
After Easter and moving into the summer, we then head back to Dénia on Spain’s Costa Blanca for the May practical course which sold out at the beginning of January! We have another new member of staff joining our teaching team for this course. We will introduce him properly later in this newsletter.
And possibly our most exciting news so far this year…. Is that in June we head to our NEW MALTA CAMPUS in San Gwann in the centre of the island, to run our first practical course in Malta following our fitness partnership formed with the impressive 24/7 Fitness Gym chain in January.
This course is almost sold out, with just 2 spaces remaining and is appropriate to international students as it’s available as a residential course too.
As we mentioned in previous newsletters, it is our aim to build up a community of trusted EPTI professionals around Europe and beyond, able to network and co-operate in synergy together. As a firm believer of this, we wish to work closer and closer with suitable graduates wherever possible as affiliate partners. As the number of practical courses that we are delivering increases, there is a need to expand the teaching team as all our assessors run their own PT businesses when not teaching with EPTI. Joining the existing team of Toby, Caroline, Mike & Chris are the following:
Having now assisted Michelle Olivera in achieving the relevant qualifications to work as a tutor and assessor, we’re pleased to announce that she will join our teaching team to assist with the practical course later this month in Estepona.
We also welcome Phillip Quilter to our teaching team. Phillip is an EPTI Master PT Diploma graduate who has previous professional experience as a high school PE teacher and a degree in teaching, prior to changing careers to become a PT. He operates his own PT business in Norway and we look forward to him exchanging snow shoes for flip flops when he joins us for practical courses in Malta later this year!
Joining us for the May practical course, Pete brings a wealth of teaching experience having previously worked as a PE teacher in the UK for 16 years and rated by OFSTED as an outstanding teacher. Pete now runs his own PT business in the UK and we’re looking forward to him delivering lessons in Dénia this summer.
LISA MARIE ROBINSON
Also joining EPTI later this year, on the next Estepona practical course in October, will be Lisa. She has 11 years teaching experience, delivering fitness courses at college level in the UK. Lisa brings a wealth of experience, having been involved in the fitness industry for over 25 years and currently runs her own Bootcamp & Yoga business in Estepona Spain.
We look forward to stretch classes not being delivered like a tortoise with rigamortis, (Toby, Chris, Mike!!!).
As we continue to grow the EPTI brand, we are excited to announce that in addition to our current fitness partnerships with companies in the UK and Middle East, we have forged new initiatives with the following fitness brands which increase the opportunities for our students once they graduate.
24/7 Fitness Group, Malta-wide
Reflex Fitness, Sliema
The Gym Moraira, Moraira
Blue Fitness Gyms, Marbella
We would also like to increase our partnership base, to further increase opportunities for EPTI graduates. So if you know of any gym that would be interested in affiliating with us, please put us in touch with them.
Upcoming Changes to UK Fitness Qualifications
In the previous newsletter, we spoke about the emergence of CIMPSA as the main player in regulation of the fitness industry in the UK.
We are delighted to inform our followers that the quality of EPTI courses has been recognised and we have been accepted and accredited to become a CIMPSA skills partner.
We will continue our membership of REPS to ensure that our qualifications are accredited worldwide via the ICREPS global skills matrix for our international students.
As ever, we’d like to thank you for continuing to help push EPTI within the fitness industry. For every graduate referral that signs up to one of our PT Diploma courses, we will send a £100 thank you cash transfer to you and reduce the price of the their course by £100 too.
Thanks to the following graduates that have referred potential students to us so far in 2017:
Charmain Cooper (The Gym, Moraira)
Till next time!
